Overlay Border

When making a blend, or some other graphics, it's better to have a border added to the image. A border is what's on the outside of the picture. Most borders you see are solid colors, but this tutorial will show you how to add an unique overlay border. I'm going to start off using this image HERE

1. First have your image opened and ready to go.
2. Now make a new layer by going to Layer>New>Layer as seen in this example HERE
3. Make sure your settings for the new layer are exactly like this:

The name of the layer doesn't matter, but leave everything else as it is.
4. Now make sure layer 2 (or whatever you named your new layer) is highlighted. Go to the paint bucket tool and fill the layer with white. Your image should look blank now.
5. Change the top layer from normal to overlay.

6. Now your image should look a little brighter than before. This is what I have so far HERE
7. Now use the rectangle tool to outline the image like I have done HERE
8. Last, just hit the delete key and you should see the edges of your image have a nice overlay border. Here's my final project HERE
I hope this has helped you!
